German astronaut Gerhard Thiele was speaking about his Space Shuttle mission STS-99, the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission SRTM.
With many slides and a video film he reported about the scientific backgrounds and the technology of Radar scanning of the earth's surface, and about the flight, the launch, the life onboard, and the landing of STS-99.
Afterwards he answered the auditorium's questions, and signed a few autographs.
